Angela Sheldon
Union Vale Town Board- Candidate

Angela taught history in both public and private schools in NYC for about 20 years. She just began her ninth year as a senior educator for the New York Historical Society.
Angela moved with her family to Union Vale and they have worked hard to improve the land they live on and populate it with a wide variety of well taken care of animals. Angela appreciates the beauty of our town and will work hard to preserve it for future generations.
Angela comes with an open mind and she is eager to hear what the residents want for our town. She wants to build a positive relationship with neighboring towns. Her core beliefs are transparency and cooperation, and her experience has taught her how to set clear objectives and follow through on them.
Heidi Tucci
Dutchess County Legislator- District 22

Heidi has been a resident of Dutchess County for 37 years. She and her husband raised 3 children here and Heidi worked as a public school music teacher for 33 years in Poughkeepsie and Millbrook. Heidi has not only seen the struggles some family face, but she has acted on it by leading food and supply drives and contributing her expertise and energy to raise money and awareness for local causes.
Heidi became frustrated with the way recent DC Legislatures spent tax dollars and resources for unnecessary items such as the minor league baseball stadium and other wasteful or uncompleted projects. Heidi will seek ways to make sure our tax dollars are better spent. Heidi has pledged to contribute half her salary to Union Vale and Beekman’s Conservation Advisory Councils- in contrast to recent votes to increase the pay of DC Legislators. Heidi recognizes that many local residents are struggling and she is committed to working hard to change that.
Dan Aymar-Blair
Candidate for Dutchess County Comptroller

Dan was elected Comptroller of Dutchess County in 2024. Since that election was to fill a vacancy, he needs to run again. Since being elected he has put his words into action, listening to the residents of Dutchess County and protecting our tax dollars.
Dan served on the Beacon City Council where he has used tax dollars to sidewalks, bike lanes, park improvements, and critical infrastructure. He recently introduced legislation to protect the Fishkill Creek Watershed.
Dan’s extensive experience in municipal finance and operations uniquely qualifies for him the position of comptroller. He currently oversees business operations in New York City Public Schools’ special education program and has experience in budget management, reviewing multi-million-dollar contracts, civil service hiring, and managing capital projects.
Dan states on his website: “I’m running for Comptroller because I believe good, people-centered government begins with accountability and integrity. I’ll be able to provide that from day one because I have the experience and the independence to do the job.”
Kara Gerry
Dutchess County Court Judge

A current resident of Union Vale, Kara grew up in Dutchess County and graduated from Marist and the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. She worked as a prosecutor in Orange County, where she gained valuable experience not only prosecuting and winning convictions, but also understanding what it takes to work in the public interest and for true justice. Kara worked for a time in her father’s law firm before moving to the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office. In 2018, she was promoted to Bureau Chief of the Criminal Unit, where she supervises other attorneys while also managing her own caseload.
Kara’s experience as both a prosecutor and defender allows her a unique perspective. She is committed to “making sure that justice is served fairly and that people are held accountable for their criminal activity; protecting the community from dangerous individuals in ensuring that those who need treatment and help are afforded that opportunity; and meting out appropriate sanctions and punishment for those convicted of crimes.”
