Dutchess County Legislator- District 22
Heidi Tucci
Heidi has been a resident of Dutchess County for 37 years. She and her husband raised 3 children here and Heidi worked as a public school music teacher for 33 years in Poughkeepsie and Millbrook. Heidi has not only seen the struggles some family face, but she has acted on it by leading food and supply drives and contributing her expertise and energy to raise money and awareness for local causes.
Heidi became frustrated with the way recent DC Legislatures spent tax dollars and resources for unnecessary items such as the minor league baseball stadium and other wasteful or uncompleted projects. Heidi will seek ways to make sure our tax dollars are better spent. Heidi has pledged to contribute half her salary to Union Vale and Beekman’s Conservation Advisory Councils- in contrast to recent votes to increase the pay of DC Legislators. Heidi recognizes that many local residents are struggling and she is committed to working hard to change that.
New York State Senate District 39
Lisa Kaul
Lisa was brought up in India. She was the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship which enabled her to earn a PhD at Oxford University. In 2004 she relocated to the US and settled in the Hudson Valley where she and her husband have raised their son. Lisa proudly became a US citizen in 2008. Service to her community is a top priority and Lisa has contributed hours to organizations such as Dutchess Outreach, Planned Parenthood, and the United Way. Lisa served on her local school board and then was elected to the Dutchess County Legislature where she continues to serve.
While on the Dutchess County Legislature, Lisa has served on committees to address environment and climate issues, early intervention services and family and human services. She was able to work across the aisle to receive funding to develop an updated waste management strategy.
As a State Senator, Lisa will focus on making the Hudson Valley an affordable area in which to raise a family and to remain in for a lifetime. Lisa supports strong unions so that workers in this area receive fair wages and work in safe environments. Lisa will work towards solutions to the climate crisis so that all residents can live in a healthy environment and benefit from lower energy costs. Lisa will advocate for the rights of all citizens to create a welcoming environment in which democracy can thrive.

Brooklyn Talarico
Brooklyn is a licensed social worker and has lived, worked and raised her family in the Hudson Valley for the past decade. She has seen first hand the challenges that families face on a daily basis.
As a Legislator, Brooklyn will seek to make physical and mental health care accessible and affordable for families. She will find ways for families to access affordable childcare and housing so they can raise their children in the Hudson Valley. Brooklyn favors strong unions that work for fair wages and workers’ rights. She will hold utility companies accountable to ensure they are charging residents fair amounts without focusing on their own profits.
NY State Supreme Court Justice
Justice Maria Rosa
Justice Maria Rosa has served 30 years in the NY State Unified Court System, including the last 13 years as a NY State Supreme Court Justice. She is rated HIGHLY QUALIFIED by the NY State Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission. Justice Rosa is also dedicated to community service and has served as a trustee for the St Francis Hospital Foundation, been a CSEA member for 18 years, and a class representative for the School Parents’ Association. Maria has also lectured at Marist and the NY State Bar Association.
Justice Rosa is committed to keeping cases moving through the system so everyone receives fair treatment. She is a listener who always has her door open.
